I remember pouring boiling water from the tea kettle over BIG shredded wheat biscuits, waiting until they softened, draining off the excess water, then sprinkling with sugar and pouring on milk...One of my favorites to this day...COMFORT food! When you're hungry, it's amazing what will satisfy, nourish and sustain! I bake all my bread from scratch now & make dried bread crumbs from whatever isn't eaten. Nice to return to "the old days."
