well it probably doesn’t make a difference in the taste of the food, it’s just entertainment. Instead of waiting around for the food to come, you get to see the chef make it in an artistic sort of way. It’s just part of the experience.

  • 2. hmiaosys  |  April 8th, 2009 at 9:46 pm

one question, does it make the food taste better?

  • 3. dollaresque  |  April 12th, 2009 at 3:29 am

What’s so amazing? They do this at every single hibachi place. Sushi and hibachi are always tasty no doubt, but they really should spice up the act with some new moves.

  • 4. thibaulthalpern  |  April 12th, 2009 at 5:59 am

In sum, I don’t know why you’re interested in what restaurant I’m interested in since we have no idea if our tastes are compatible or similar.

  • 5. thibaulthalpern  |  April 14th, 2009 at 5:00 am

Well, all I said was I didn’t like Benihana’s food. It doesn’t mean everyone else has to. Just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean everyone has to also dislike it. Taste is not an objective quality. What you like, I may not like and vice versa. So, it doesn’t necessarily make sense to say definitively that another restaurant is definitely better than Benihana. That said, I prefer P. F. Chang’s over Benihana, but again, doesn’t mean it will suit your taste.

I noticed you didn’t answer my question. I Didn’t think you would. You’re right, I am negative toward you. People like you that whine all the time aren’t really well liked. I think I’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head with my previous comment.

  • 7. thibaulthalpern  |  April 19th, 2009 at 10:58 pm

    Negativity? LOL. Look who’s talking.

  • 8. razorflown  |  April 21st, 2009 at 1:02 am

You probably wouldn’t be much fun on the town. I’m guessing you’re one of those “bitch about everything” type people.

If not, why not enlighten the rest of us by commenting positively on the restaurant you feel we should try, to counteract your negativity towards Benihana?
So, what mainstream restaurant would you say is better than Benihana? And don’t give me some hole in the wall joint that you and your friends found that is ‘just simply to die for’ and no one else knows exists.

I’m not saying that grilled food in general is “bleh”. I”m saying Benihana’s grilled food is mostly “bleh”. The qualification is important.

  • 10. razorflown  |  April 24th, 2009 at 12:02 pm

….Wait, you said that grilled food is “bleh”.

    ……..You’re weird.

  • 11. yourfreebieguide  |  April 27th, 2009 at 6:13 am

    I second that indeed.

  • 12. thibaulthalpern  |  April 29th, 2009 at 11:28 pm

Yeah, Benihana has great cooking display skills. But, their food isn’t that great. A lot of that grilled food is rather “bleh”.
